ABOUT

Gabriela Pintado Terroba

I am a Mother, Traditional Postpartum Practitioner, and a Somatic Movement Educator with a focus on Women's Health through Female Embodiment.

I work with Women in all stages of their life, especially Mothers in the childbirth continuum and beyond, for life-long vitality through holistic care rooted in Traditional Practices and Physiology. I understand and practice Nervous System regulation through Somatic Movement and Somatic Touch for the well being and health of those I work with.

I was born and raised in Mexico, and have practiced movement as a form of therapy and creative expression since a very young age. In 2014 I moved to Europe and completed my studies in Fine Arts at La Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy. In 2016 I traveled to India on a deep search for bigger answers into the spiritual world and the meaning of peace within. I studied under the guidance of traditional Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teachers, receiving my Yoga Teacher Training certificate. This began my journey of teaching and sharing the practice of Yoga in Milan, Berlin, Mexico and the United States

Later I was initiated into Well Woman Yoga Therapy and Somatic Movement. This led me to study with Uma Dinsmore Tuli where I learned the way the female body is design to move and breathe for optimal health according to our physiology, respecting the ever-changing cycles of a woman’s life - from menarche to the childbearing continuum to menopause.

Becoming a Mother was my biggest initiation into this body of work.

I began searching for the teaching and knowledge of my own culture. This took me to sit and learn from Traditional Parteras and Curanderas (Midwives and Healers) from Mexico and Central America that follow the ancestral teachings of Traditional Mexican Medicine. These teachings grounded my practices, allowing me to serve others from a deeply rooted place within.

I continued my studies In Women`s health and the Postpartum period with the completion of Innate Postpartum Care Training with my Teachers and Mentors Rachelle Garcia Seliga of Innate Traditions and Silvia Urbani of La Prima Radice.

I consider the work of Holistic Women`s Health and Female Embodiment an ongoing apprenticeship through physiology, ancestral knowledge and the mystery of life. The knowledge of Traditional Mexican Medicine Elders, Parteras, Traditional Midwifes, Mothers, Women and my many Teachers has been the most valuable guidance on my life path, an oral transmission of knowledge and embodiment of life experience.
