This ceremony honors a new transition in life and the closing of a cycle.

During this ceremony we will tend to the physical body through a Sobada ( oil massage) that promotes relaxation bringing balance to the lymphatic system, the immune system and central nervous system supporting the healing of a new mother.

The herbal bath and vaginal steam helps with detoxification, comfort, and allows the body to re-heat for optimal circulation and healing.

Cerrada con Rebozo allows the mother to have a closure of her birth experience, honors and supports the mother for bringing life into the world and acknowledges her transformation in to motherhood.

Physically, the ceremony support the bone structure, guiding the mother’s bones back in to place, allows her uterus and pelvic organs to come back into optimal size and position.

Energetically, the ceremony allows for the mother’s spirit to come back in to her body. This can also be seen as Integration of body, mind, spirit. During birth, many woman experience an energetic sense of immense opening, the opening that allows a baby to come in to this world. When mother’s open themselves to this immense experience, we sometimes need physical and energetic holding to come back in to the present moment.

This ceremony is rooted in the original practices of traditional Parteras and Curanderas (Midwifes and Healers) throughout Mexico, Central, and South Americas.

Closing of the Bones is designed for mothers from postpartum and beyond. The Cerrada is open to all mother, no matter how old your child is. It can also be given after a miscarriage or termination, even if many years have passed.
